State’s top prospect Justyn Ross announces top 11
There is now some movement on the recruiting front for the state’s top prospect.
Justyn Ross, a 6-foot-4, 197-pound receiver from Central-Phenix City, announced a top 11 on Friday night.
Alabama and Auburn made the cut, as expected. Ross has been to those schools numerous times over the past couple of years. So did Clemson, a place Ross visited recently as well and seemed to enjoy.
Ohio State was on the list. OSU quarterback commit Emory Jones is recruiting Ross hard to join him, just like Auburn quarterback commit Joey Gatewood.
Ole Miss, Florida State, LSU, Southern Cal, Miami, Mississippi State and Florida are the other schools on the list.
Ross is ranked as the No. 28 prospect nationally and is a four-star recruit. He’s the highest-ranked four-star prospect in the country.
He confirmed to AL.com that he will narrow it down further after his mother returns home in a few weeks after serving our country with the U.S. National Guard in Kuwait.
Ross came back from a torn ACL as a sophomore and caught 38 passes for 663 yards and eight touchdowns last season. He is a 2018 Under Armour All-American.
