Alabama could land a commitment on Thursday night if West Monroe, La., athlete Slade Bolden chooses the Crimson Tide.
The 5-foot-11, 198-pound Bolden confirmed to AL.com that he would be picking between Alabama and TCU. LSU is out of the mix. Alabama has signed several top prospects from Louisiana over the years, including recently Dylan Moses, Phidarian Mathis and Christopher Allen.
Bolden preps at West Monroe High School, the same as former Alabama left tackle Cam Robinson, a five-star recruit in 2014.
Bolden is a three-star all-purpose back in the 247Sports composite, and is being recruited as an athlete/slot receiver by Alabama. He recently performed well during a camp in Tuscaloosa.
“Awesome coaches, awesome facility, and a great environment,” Bolden said of Alabama. “Everything at ‘Bama is top of the class! Felt very wanted there!”
Alabama is in the mix for four-star defensive end Cameron Latu of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is set to announce on Friday.
Dominick Wood-Anderson, the nation’s top junior college tight end, chose Texas over Alabama on Tuesday. Alabama’s focus appears to be on four-star Illinois tight end Luke Ford, who is also being heavily pursued by Texas, Michigan, Georgia, Auburn and others.
